Tennessee football fan drills .5 million ‘College GameDay’ kick in front of Peyton Manning

Pat McAfee and ESPN’s “College GameDay” are giving away so much money recently. The college football show’s weekly kicking contest has another winner, and this time it happened in front of Tennessee football legend Peyton Manning.

The former NFL superstar is in Knoxville for this weekend’s massive matchup between the Volunteers and Texas Longhorns. However, Manning’s allegiance will be tested considering his nephew Arch Manning is playing for No. 1 ranked Texas.

McAfee’s contest shifted to Tennessee’s campus this weekend with the two-time Super Bowl champion watching on. This week’s kicker, Colby Lamb, didn’t successful make his first try like two previous winners at Texas and Ole Miss.

He did deliver in front of a packed crowd on his second attempt, though, which landed the Tennessee football fan $1 million. The epic kick also sends $500,000 to The Pat Summitt Foundation, which was created by the school’s iconic women’s college basketball coach to benefit ALS research.

Three straight weeks of million-dollar kicks

It’s been a lucrative three-week span for fans appearing on “College GameDay.” A Texas fan won $1.2 million two weeks ago when ESPN traveled to Austin for the show.

Meanwhile, last week’s trip to Ole Miss forced McAfee to give out another $1 million prize. That proved to be a good omen for the Rebels before taking down Lane Kiffin and LSU in primetime.

Saturday’s latest contest in Knoxville proved to be quite special with Manning present to cheer on Lamb during his attempts. The entire Neyland Stadium crowd even erupted when the college student’s kick split the uprights.

There will be several other notable names present on-campus for the matchup, including “College GameDay” celebrity guest picker Johnny Knoxville.

No. 14 Tennessee hosts No. 1 Texas at 12 p.m. ET on ABC with the two SEC teams aiming to remain unbeaten.
