Tennessee is recruiting towards its 2027 football signing class. The Vols offered a scholarship to running back Gary Walker.

“Blessed and thankful for my teammates, coaches and family for helping me earn an offer from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville,” Walker announced.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound prospect is from Creekside High School in Fairburn, Georgia. Creekside is home to a trio of former Tennessee players: safety Eric Berry, return specialist Evan Berry and linebacker Elliott Berry.

247Sports ranks Walker as the No. 7 running back in the class and the No. 13 player in Georgia.

Georgia State was the first school to offer Walker a scholarship on April 7, 2025. Other schools to offer him scholarships include Boston College, UMass, Toledo, Memphis, Liberty, Stanford, Kansas State, Duke, Florida State, Pittsburgh, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, Colorado State, Kansas, USF, Penn State, Wake Forest, Northwestern, Kentucky, Rutgers, Wisconsin, Colorado and Virginia.

Tennessee has four commitments in its 2027 football recruiting class: linebacker JP Peace, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, defensive lineman Kadin Fife and quarterback Derrick Baker.
