Tennessee football offers 2028 Maryland wide receiver

Tennessee is recruiting toward its 2028 football signing class. The Vols offered a scholarship to four-star wide receiver Tristan Thomas.

"Blessed to receive an offer from the University of Tennessee," Thomas announced.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound prospect is from Calvert High School in Prince Frederick, Maryland. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 12 athlete in the class and No. 10 player in Maryland.

Maryland was the first school to offer Thomas a scholarship on March 10. Other schools to offer him scholarships include Virginia Tech, Florida, Stanford, UConn, Duke, Michigan State, Oregon, Iowa State, Wake Forest, SMU, West Virginia, Penn State, UCLA, Indiana and Rutgers.

Tennessee does not have a commitment in its 2028 football recruiting class.

The Vols have 19 commitments in its 2027 football recruiting class: linebacker JP Peace, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler, wide receiver KeSean Bowman, defensive back Carter Jamison and defensive back Brandon Leavell, tight end Malik Howard, defensive lineman Christian Mays, cornerback Dylan Haley, linebacker Kenneth Simon II, kicker Ford Fehling, long snapper Sam McKeown, offensive tackle Q’Mari Hudson, athlete Dayon Cooper, safety Marcus Jones, offensive tackle Niko Kampas, running back David Gabriel Georges and running back Asa Barnes.
