Tennessee football signing day updates: Josh Heupel complete 2026 class

Tennessee football will wrap up its 2026 signing class on Feb. 4 with some additions in the late signing period.

Knox Catholic offensive lineman Jeremy George-El and Alcoa wide receiver JaColby Cooper committed to the Vols, and they’re expected to sign.

George-El is a 6-foot-5, 325-pounder who chose Tennessee after receiving scholarship offers from MTSU, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, Eastern Kentucky, UT Martin and Central Arkansas among others.

Cooper is a 6-2, 173-pounder had 52 catches for 628 yards and nine touchdowns during his senior season, helping Alcoa win its 11th straight state championship. He had offers from Carson-Newman, Emory & Henry and the University of Pikeville.

In December, SEC presidents approved a 105-scholarship limit. That opened the door for developmental recruits like George-El and Cooper to sign as scholarship players. They will complete a significant transition for UT’s roster this offseason.

The Vols already signed 27 players in the early signing period in December, and 24 of those enrolled in January. The remaining three signees, as well as George-El and Cooper, will enroll in the summer. UT also added 20 transfers from the portal, and they are enrolled.
