Tennessee high school RB commits to Cincinnati football for 2026 class

Anderson County running back Jayzon Thompson has committed to Cincinnati, he announced on social media on Jan. 18.

"I am 100% committed to the university Cincinnati blessed to be in this position!!," Thompson wrote on X.

Thompson committed to Cincinnati amid offers from Tennessee (preferred walk-on), Auburn, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Ole Miss, Purdue and Wisconsin.

The 5-foot-10, 168-pound running back is a three-star recruit in the 247Sports Composite. He's the No. 80 running back in the country and the No. 40 overall prospect in Tennessee.

Thompson started his high school career at Bearden before finishing his senior year with the Mavericks. The All-PrepXtra first-team running back rushed for 1,970 yards and 28 touchdowns on 216 carries.

He was also Anderson County's main receiving threat, catching a team-high 48 passes for 627 yards and seven touchdowns.
