Tennessee transfer quarterback target commits to LSU, Lane Kiffin

Former Arizona State and Michigan State quarterback Sam Leavitt entered the NCAA transfer portal following the 2025 football season.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound quarterback committed to LSU and first-year head coach Lane Kiffin on Monday, according to On3.

“Arizona State transfer quarterback Sam Leavitt has committed to LSU, Pete Nakos and Hayes Fawcett report,” On3 announced.

He appeared in 24 games, including 20 starts, from 2023-25 with Arizona State and Michigan State. He completed 376-of-612 passing attempts for 4,652 yards, 36 touchdowns and 11 touchdowns, while recording 816 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns on 196 attempts.

Leavitt guided Arizona State to a College Football Playoff appearance in 2024.

He is from West Linn High School in West Linn, Oregon. Leavitt committed to Washington State on June 17, 2022 and decommitted from the Cougars on Dec. 14, 2022 before signing with Michigan State.
