Texas A&M football just received massive news about a 2027 recruit who has reclassified to play for head coach Mike Elko and the Aggies this season.

According to reports, athlete Loia Valade will join the roster early and compete for the Aggies this year. Valade is a versatile and electric speedster from Boca Raton, Fla., who chose to play for Texas A&M over finalists like Auburn, Florida and Miami. As a junior, Valade recorded 21 tackles and two interceptions while also hauling in 29 receptions, 456 yards, and five touchdowns at wide receiver.

Valade's reclassification provides a big boost to an already stacked secondary. The versatile three-star will get to learn and develop early in Elko and defensive coordinator Lyle Hemphill's gritty system.

Texas A&M's secondary entered the 2026 season as a highly touted unit, with much of its production from last year's historic campaign returning for year three of the Elko Era. Veterans like Marcus Ratcliffe, Dezz Ricks, Jordan Shaw, Julio Humphrey and Dalton Brooks know what it takes to represent the Maroon and White's physical defensive philosophy against the top competition in the conference. Throw in senior Colorado transfer safety Tawfiq Byard, and the Aggies boast one of the most experienced secondaries in the country.

Don't discount the talent of the youth on this team, however. Valade's announcement, combined with guys like Brandon Arrington and Vic Singleton on the roster, will allow Texas A&M to develop these athletes and give them opportunities to learn under the more experienced veterans, who will likely be starting come kickoff against Missouri State on Sept. 5. Still, if the current members on the team decide to stick around, this unit could become the most dangerous in college football for years to come.
