Texas A&M Aggies aggressively pursuing top transfer portal wide receiver to pair with Mario Craver for QB Marcel Reed

The Texas A&M Aggies and head coach Mike Elko have already done a remarkable job in the transfer portal. Now they're trying to add the finishing touches to an already special roster so they can get to the College Football Playoff in 2026.

They've already brought in plenty of help on defense and the offensive trenches. One of the last spots that the Aggies need to fix is the wide receiver room. KC Concepcion is headed off to the NFL Draft, so Marcel Reed will need another trustworthy wide receiver to pair with Mario Craver to make sure Texas A&M's offense remains one of the more explosive in the nation.

Texas A&M Aggies pursuing former Alabama WR Isaiah Horton

The Aggies have been hosting and pursuing a number of different wide receiver talents in the transfer portal over the last week. The number one target had been Cam Coleman (former five star from Auburn). They had also pursued top tier talents like Eugene Wilson from Florida, but he's off to join the LSU Tigers.

It seems they're still looking for a big-bodied wide receiver now, closer to the Cam Coleman type, since it seems they aren't actually going to land the former Auburn Tigers star (too many suitors chasing him). Now they're aggressively pursuing Isaiah Horton, a former Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver. Horton is even bigger than Coleman, standing at 6-4, 210 pounds.

According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports (who had it first) and other sources who have confirmed, Horton is set to visit Texas A&M. The Aggies will be his first visit since entering his name into the transfer portal.

For those unfamiliar, Isaiah Horton is a former four star wide receiver from middle Tennessee who found early success at both Miami and Alabama. Horton functioned as the primary "X" outside wide receiver for the Alabama Crimson Tide last season, catching 42 receptions for over 500 yards and eight touchdowns. Horton now has 13 touchdowns scored in the last two seasons, and will have one season of eligibility wherever he lands.

If coach Elko and his recruiting staff can actually win this transfer portal battle for Horton he would fit perfectly alongside Mario Craver. Horton offers top tier size, length, and ball skills mixed with underrated speed to threaten in the red zone and outside the formation, stretching the field vertically. Craver can still be the speedy YAC weapon that Reed can target on screens, underneath routes, and deep routes out of the slot. If the Aggies strike out on both Coleman and Horton, Texas A&M fans should start to worry a bit about the offense. Fortunately, Elko and company look like they're in good position to land this one.
