Texas A&M basketball guard to enter transfer portal

A Texas A&M basketball player is entering the transfer portal. According to On3's Pete Nakos, guard Bryson Warren has decided to enter the transfer portal.

The news comes after the SEC passed a rule banning players who have competed in professional leagues from returning to college. Warren spent the past three years in the G-League, playing for the Sioux Falls Skyforce and Westchester Knicks before committing to the Aggies in April.

He was granted a temporary restraining order on Wednesday that made him eligible for the Aggies for the 2026-27 season, but is moving on before ever appearing in a game for them.

Warren was set to be a key piece for the Aggies next season. In 19 games, he averaged 19.8 points, 5.0 assists, and 1.2 steals for Westchester last year. He averaged 13.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game in his two years with Sioux Falls.

Head coach Bucky McMillan has rebuilt Texas A&M's roster over the offseason. The Aggies signed seven transfers this offseason in point guards Jordan Pope and Jalen Reece, small forward Jalen Shelley, combo guard Tyshawn Archie, power forward Cade Phillips, and shooting guards Lukas Walls and PJ Haggerty. They also signed high school center Josh Irving. Their transfer class is ranked as the 15th best in the country by On3.
