The College Football Playoff committee released another batch of rankings ahead of conference championship week. As expected, Texas A&M fell four spots in the rankings to 7th after its 27-17 loss to Texas in Austin to finish out the regular season. The Aggies finished the regular season at 11-1.
As expected, the Aggies are a lock for the College Football Playoff, even with the loss to Texas representing a blemish on the record. Texas A&M still has no odds available for making the playoff on the FanDuel Sportsbook. The Aggies come in at -4000 to make the quarterfinals, -110 to make the semifinals, and +470 to make it to the National Championship. The Aggies are +1200 to win the title.
All that’s left for Texas A&M ahead of the postseason is to wait and see where the chips fall. Conference championship week can shake things up a bit, but the Aggies are likely to host a game in the first round of the playoffs. Either way, we’ll have a lot to talk about this time next week, as the committee releases their final rankings and the Playoff matchups this coming Sunday.
