Texas A&M's No. 1-ranked 2027 recruiting class is still in great shape, as nearly every one of third-year coach Mike Elko's 26 commitments has vocally expressed that the Aggies' shaky start to the 2026 season, including consecutive losses to Kentucky and LSU, has not affected their commitment with Early Signing Day just two months away.

Last Saturday, Texas A&M's 34-7 win over Arkansas also served as one of the most significant recruiting weekends of the season, featuring nearly every 2028 blue-chip priority prospect, while the Aggies' late offer to rising 2027 defensive lineman Jeremiah Mark included led to a weekend visit, which could result in the Mississippi native committing to A&M in the coming weeks.

Uncommitted 2027 prospects are few and far between, and Mark's late surge includes high interest from Alabama, Ole Miss, and LSU; he will visit the Crimson Tide this weekend when Alabama hosts Georgia in one of the biggest games of the year.

After his visit to College Station, Mark told Rivals recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong that Mike Elko and his staff, along with Kyle Field's atmosphere, have made Texas A&M one of his current favorites.

“The atmosphere was crazy, honestly I loved it,” Mark stated. “Honestly it feels like home. I could see myself playing there. One of my top schools for sure. What excited me the most was seeing the d-line attacking the ball and them playing as a unit!”

Texas A&M's defensive line has been stout against the run, but has struggled to consistently pressure the pocket, allowing opposing quarterbacks to scan the field and attack an Aggie secondary that has given up too many explosive plays early in the season.

While this isn't due to a lack of talent, adding size and athleticism in the trenches should improve play, given that Mike Elko's scheme has produced consistent results in the past.
