Texas A&M is still in the running for Auburn transfer wide receiver Cam Coleman, who, after visiting Alabama on Friday, will head back to his hometown of Phenix City, Alabama, and likely make a decision in the coming days, as the Aggies, Texas, and Texas Tech are the other two schools to watch. However, Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko isn’t sitting pat while the former Aggie commit mulls over his decision.

Late Friday night, 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz reported that Alabama star transfer wide receiver Isaiah Horton, who entered his name into the transfer portal on Thursday, would visit Texas A&M on Saturday, a report further confirmed by On3’s Pete Nakos.

This news is massive for the Aggies, who are one big-bodied veteran receiver away from entering the 2026 season with a WR rotation that will help starting quarterback Marcel Reed take another step as a pocket passer, especially in the red zone.

Horton, who stands at 6’4″ and over 200 pounds, logged 601 snaps during his first and final season with the Crimson Tide, becoming a favorite target for quarterback Ty Simpson, reeling in 42 receptions for 511 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging over 12 yards per catch.

Horton’s size, soft hands, and vast experience after his first three seasons with Miami make him an instant impact player for any program lucky enough to land his commitment, and if Elko and his staff can put pen to paper this weekend, potentially losing out on Cam Coleman won’t sting as much, and the 2026 wide receiver room will be complete.

According to Pete Nakos, Texas A&M is the team to beat early in the process.

“The former Miami transfer arrives on his Texas A&M visit on Saturday afternoon, and the Aggies are the clear early team to beat in this.”

The NCAA transfer portal window opened Jan. 2 and runs through Jan. 16.
