Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko has secured another impact piece for the future of his Maroon Goons, pulling a starting‑caliber offensive lineman away from a permanent SEC opponent.

On Wednesday, Kannon Torres reported that Alabama redshirt sophomore transfer Wilkin Formby committed to Texas A&M. The former four‑star prospect chose the Aggies over several other programs and arrives in College Station with two years of eligibility remaining.

Extremely versatile, Formby will likely play right tackle for the Aggies after spending most of his final season at right guard at Alabama. However, Elko may not be finished adding offensive lineman from the portal.

With the departure of nearly the entire 2025 offensive line, Formby is expected to compete immediately for significant snaps in 2026 and beyond. His combination of size, movement skills, and SEC game reps makes him a strong candidate to anchor one of the guard or tackle spots as Texas A&M rebuilds its front.
