Texas A&M makes 2028 4-star CB's Top 8, who plans to visit this fall

Texas A&M’s 2026 season is less than two months away, and third-year coach Mike Elko and his staff are taking a much-deserved break after landing four-star linebacker Mikahi Allen in the No. 1-ranked 2027 recruiting class, who could be the final addition barring any flips over the next few months.

While five-star running back Landon Williams-Callis placed the Aggies in his final list, the Texas Longhorns are expected to land his commitment on August 1, while Elko and running backs coach Trooper Taylor will continue to pursue the blue-chip back, combined with four-star RB SaRod Baker, who is currently committed to Texas Tech.

By this time next year, Texas A&M’s 2028 recruiting class will take center stage, which could include four-star cornerback Jordan Hicks, who, during his recent interview with Rivals insider Brandon Huffman, stated that Michigan, Syracuse, Washington, and Vanderbilt have “stood out” during the early parts of his recruitment, while Texas A&M is also on his radar.

“I know for sure I’ll be going to a game at Texas A&M,” said Hicks.

On Friday, 247Sports insider Collin Kennedy revealed that Hicks is down to eight schools, including Texas A&M, which is good news for Mike Elko and new cornerbacks coach Bryant Gross-Armiento, who aim to host the blue-chip defensive back during one of the Aggies’ early to midseason home games inside a packed Kyle Field, which has produced several commitments over the last two recruiting cycles.

Last season, the California native was highly productive, recording 62 tackles, five pass breakups, and five interceptions, which caught the eye of nearly every blue-blood program in the country.
