Texas A&M releases first 2026 depth chart

It’s the first game week of the 2026 football season, and that means it’s depth chart time. The Aggies made theirs available to the media ahead of Mike Elko’s Missouri State week press conference on Monday afternoon.
Unsurprisingly, there are a lot of “OR”s on this depth chart, with many position battles very well-known. That said, here are some notables:
OFFENSE:
- Rueben Owens and Jamarion Morrow as co-starters at RB indicate what this staff thinks of Morrow in his second season
- Ashton Bethel-Roman being a co-starter at WR with Terry Bussey tracks with the glowing reviews we’ve seen for Bussey throughout fall camp
- The offensive line appears to have three established starters (Adams/Formby at the tackle spots and Nabou at center). The two guard spots are still up in the air, with some combination of Blake Ivy, Trovon Baugh and Coen Echols
- Who the heck knows which tight ends will play and how much.
DEFENSE:
- T.J. Searcy listed ahead of Anto Saka at DE is a surprise (though I’d expect you see a lot of both)
- D.J. Hicks listed as an “OR” along with sophomore Landon Rink also comes as a bit of a surprise (but once again, that’s a position that will rotate players regularly either way)
- Noah Mikhail listed as an “OR” at both LB spots (with Daymion Sanford and Ray Coney, respectively) speaks to how much he has risen up the depth chart in his second year.
- A bit of a surprise with Julio Humphrey being listed as a standalone starter at CB. Many seemed to believe that Ricks was the one who was locked into a starting spot, but he appears to be in an “OR” battle with Tennessee transfer Rickey Gibson.
SPECIAL TEAMS:
- Transfer K David Olano named the starter, and we’ll all praying for improvement at that position.
- “OR”s at the returner spots give away very little, as expected
