Texas A&M vs. Arkansas: Everything to know about the Razorbacks

For the first time since 2020, Texas A&M (2-2) will host Arkansas (2-2) at Kyle Field in Bryan-College Station, Texas, on Saturday night.
The Aggies are coming off back-to-back losses to start SEC play, including the program's first home loss against an unranked opponent in the Mike Elko era. Texas A&M suffered a 35-6 loss to No. 10 LSU in Week 4, in which offensive coordinator Holmon Wiggins' unit was held to under 200 total yards for the first time since the upset loss to Appalachian State in 2022.
Texas A&M will be lining up against first-year head coach Ryan Silverfield and the Arkansas Razorbacks, who boast losses to No. 13 Utah and No. 2 Georgia. It has been a rough start for Silverfield in Fayetteville, with fans already throwing in the towel on the season. That could change if the Hogs can pick up a road win over the Aggies in Week 5, however.
Here is everything you need to know about the Razorbacks before Saturday's showdown at Kyle Field:
Arkansas offense
Three players to watch: Chris Marshall (WR), Ismael Cisse (WR) and KJ Jackson (QB)
Tale of the tape: The small flashes of success the Arkansas offense has had through the first four weeks have largely come from electric wide receiver Chris Marshall, who leads the SEC with 473 yards. Marshall has recorded back-to-back games of over 100 receiving yards, including against No. 7 Georgia.
Arkansas quarterback KJ Jackson has been the primary starter, throwing for 927 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions so far. Jackson's connection with Marshall and Ismael Cisse has the Razorbacks ranked No. 2 in the conference with 50 passing plays of 10 yards or more.
Texas A&M's secondary will face a massive challenge in preventing Marshall and the Arkansas offense from running hog-wild. The Aggies rank No. 89 in the FBS in explosive plays allowed of 20-plus yards, an area the Razorbacks could exploit.
Arkansas defense
Three players to watch: Khmori House (DB), Christian Harris (DB) and Qunicy Rhodes Jr. (DL)
Tale of the tape: On the other side of the ball, Arkansas' defensive strength matches up well against Texas A&M's struggles in the passing game. The Hogs are No. 7 in the conference, allowing 200.0 passing yards per contest this season, while also being tied for third with just 26 pass plays of 10-plus yards.
Khmori House has been a standout defensive back for Arkansas in 2026, tied for the team lead with 2.0 sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss. Defensive lineman Qunicy Rhodes Jr. has not been far behind House, registering 3.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks.
After two lackluster performances to open SEC play, Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed must be consistent and accurate, especially with Mario Craver possibly out.
Final prediction
Final score: Arkansas 20 | Texas A&M 30
This rivalry has been consistently close every year, with Texas A&M securing a 45-42 win over Arkansas in Fayetteville in 2025. Reed will still struggle at times, especially against a solid Razorbacks secondary, but this is a prime opportunity for the running back room to break out. Rueben Owens II, KJ Edwards and the return of Jamarion Morrow will be massive for the Texas A&M offense. There are always some weird things happening in this game, but I like the Aggies to pull out a slim victory over the Hogs.
