No. 3 Texas A&M (10-0, 7-0 SEC) will look to keep its undefeated streak alive against Samford (1-10) on Saturday afternoon.
The Aggies are a week removed from the largest comeback in program history after defeating South Carolina 31-30, led by starting quarterback Marcel Reed’s career high 419 passing yards, including 298 yards and three touchdowns in the second half after trailing by 27 points at halftime.
This week, head coach Mike Elko has reiterated that his team is focused on each opponent without looking ahead, knowing that the season-finale vs. the Texas Longhorns in Austin looms large ahead of the Black Friday meeting. While the Aggies are nearly a 55-point favorite over the Bulldogs, Elko is looking for a complete performance and needs to avoid the slow start that led to A&M’s 27-point deficit against the Gamecocks.
Facing a Samford offensive line that has given up over 50 sacks, which is good news for Texas A&M’s pass rush, which has produced 38 sacks, led by senior edge Cashius Howell’s 11.5 sacks. Both rank No. 1 nationally, which could leave Samford’s offense barely able to move the ball down the field.
For Texas A&M’s offense, it’s all about balance, starting with a healthy dose of the run game. At the same time, Marcel Reed should have plenty of time in the pocket to deliver strikes and continue gaining confidence in the pocket before facing the Longhorns’ tough defense.

Texas A&M will honor 36 players half an hour before the 11:00 a.m. kickoff, which will reportedly include junior linebacker Taurean York and junior transfer wide receiver KC Concepcion, who are both predicted to enter the 2026 NFL Draft.
Texas A&M sophomore transfer WR Mario Craver dealt with an injury last week, and while he did play against South Carolina, it didn’t look like he was completely healed. Less than an hour before kickoff, Craver is dressed out and ready to play against Samford.
