Texas A&M’s 2027 recruiting class is now Rivals’ No. 1-ranked cycle after landing five-star edge Zyron Forstall, who is currently positioned as the 16th-ranked prospect in the country, and possesses the NFL-level talent that coach Mike Elko looks for in every prospect he and his staff pursue.
Coupled with five-star safety Kamrui Dorsey, Texas A&M’s future defense, especially a secondary that will also likely feature four-star cornerback Raylaun Henry and four-star athlete Hakeem Frampton, Elko and new defensive coordinator Lyle Hemphill have to be excited about the incoming speed and athleticism each player brings to the table.
This week, several position groups will be represented in the 2027 class, including five-star wide receiver Erik McFarland, for whom the Aggies received an early prediction to land this year. He reportedly made his way to campus on Wednesday and will take an unofficial visit on Thursday, as Zyron Forstall’s IMG Academy teammate is also considering USC and the Miami Hurricanes.
Rivals insider Steve Wiltfong also revealed that 2027 four-star edge JaBarrius Garror, who recently decommitted from Alabama, will make his way to College Station this weekend, and, according to Wiltfong, is heavily considering the Aggies and Florida State. Combined with fellow four-star ed Frederick Ards III, Elko and his staff will also host several blue-chip linebackers and one of the more underrated cornerbacks.
“More notable 2027s visiting this weekend include blue-chip linebackers Isaac McNeil and Ja’Bios Smith, Rivals300 cornerback Taelyn Mayo, Rivals300 defensive lineman Alifeleti Tuihalamaka, four-star defensive lineman Tyler Alexander and four-star tight end Max Patterson.”
Mike Elko will continue to use the spring football schedule to host the incoming 2027 and 2028 visitors before hosting nearly every prospect mentioned for official visits later this summer.
