Over the last few months, the Texas Longhorns have been connected to five-star recruit Kavian Bryant. The Texas native who has drawn interest nationwide Is ranked as the top QB in his class by Rivals. On Saturday, he will decide where to start his career, choosing between four teams.
The Programs still left in the running are Texas, Texas Tech, SMU, and Florida State. While they would all see a significant boost with Bryant in the mix, he would transform the Longhorns' 2027 class. At the moment, they have only one commit in four-star linebacker Taven Epps. They still need help on offense, and Bryant would check off a lot of boxes.

While Bryant has frustrated defensive coordinators for years, he took his game to another level during the 2024 campaign. During his sophomore season, the Westwood High star recorded 2,442 passing yards and 34 touchdown passes. He was also a threat on the ground with 709 rushing yards while finding the end zone 11 times. Regardless of the opponent, he found a way to make an impact.
In recent years, the Longhorns have had good luck when it comes to quarterbacks. That list includes Quinn Ewers, who is now in the NFL, and Arch Manning, who has shown flashes of stardom. They will also welcome Dia Bell to campus next year, who is a five-star recruit. Steve Sarkisian and his staff hope that Bryant will want to be the next player to join that group.

During the recruiting process, Bryant has made a couple of stops in Austin. He traveled to the Forty Acres in June to attend Longhorns camp. That only increased the Longhorns' desire to make him a key piece of their future.
The potential future star will make his decision on the same day that Texas plays its biggest game of the year. They are set to take on a Vanderbilt team on Saturday that is currently ranked as the ninth-best team in the nation. If Longhorns can walk away from this weekend with a win and a commitment from Bryant, they will have plenty of reasons to celebrate over the weekend.
