Texas football’s new indoor practice facility near completion

Texas football has a lot to look forward to.

Not only does the program have one to two additional years of Arch Manning working under center, head coach Steve Sarkisian is also locked in for the long-haul thanks to a contract that likely keeps him at Texas until at least 2031. And for the next five years and beyond, the program have a new indoor practice facility to add to the program’s already impressive resume of facilities.

The Frank and Wofford Denius Indoor Football Facility officially opens next month.

While “the Bubble,” Texas’ existing practice facility structure, carries an excess of history, it seems, at least for Sarkisian, it won’t be missed.

“The memory I have is the first time we were outside, and we had a transition to go into the bubble because of weather and lightning,” Sarkisian said during an interview with 247Sports. “It just didn’t dawn on me how long it would take to get 120 players plus staff and video into the bubble [through a slow-moving, revolving door]. I was tapping my foot, and I was thinking to myself, ‘If [former Alabama head coach Nick Saban] were here today, the top of the bubble might have blown off,’ because, as a coach, you want to be efficient and go, go, go.”
