The Texas Longhornscurrently have the nation's No. 6 recruiting class for the 2027 cycle. They have multiple blue-chip edge recruits committed in Jabarrius Garror and Derwin Fields, who are both four-star prospects. Now, they’re after more talent as they have offered three-star edge RJ Hudson out of Varina High School in Richmond, Virginia.

Hudson is the No. 486 overall recruit in the nation and the No. 44 edge per 247Sports composite rankings. In the state of Virginia, he's the No. 14 prospect.
\n
As a junior, Hudson had a very productive season. He finished with 45 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, one interception (returned for a touchdown), two pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. In addition to edge, Hudson also plays linebacker as well.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder is currently committed to Clemson. However, with the success that Texas is having as the current No. 1 team in the country on top of making major waves in recruiting, they certainly should be a program that Clemson must take seriously as a threat.
