Texas QB Arch Manning will be final player to be named 'Cheesiest'

Arch Manning will be the final played to be named the "Cheesiest." Manning was named the MVP of last season's Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, but Cheez-It has ended it's sponsorship of the Orlando based postseason game.

Showing off the improvement that Texas fans saw in the second half of the season, Texas Longhorns QB Arch Manning shined in a 41-27 win over Michigan in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl. Manning finished the game 21 of 34 for 221 yards passing and two touchdowns. He also had an incredible 155 yards rushing and two touchdowns on just nine carries.

Manning was named MVP of the game. He was presented a royal robe and a Cheez-It crusted turkey leg. He also ended up with the crown originally given to UT coach Steve Sarkisian. It was a fun bit and a fun game to end a frustrating season.

But the Cheez-It Bowl is no more. Kellogg is also pulling its sponsorship of the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl. Cheez-It originally sponsored the Cactus Bowl played in Arizona in 2018. The brand continued to step up the bowl food chain, sponsoring the Tangerine Bowl (now the Pop-Tarts Bowl) and the Citrus Bowl.

Cheez-Its' parent company is Kellanova, which was part of Kellogg until the company split it's cereal and snack businesses. Kellanova also makes Pop-Tarts, Eggos and other famous snacks.

Late last year, Mars, Inc. bought Kellanova. Mars may have decided to get out of the bowl sponsorship business, but for now, the Pop-Tarts sponsorship is still in place.

Either way, Arch will go down in history as the final "Cheesiest" player in college football.
