A Texas running back has scheduled visits with two college football programs, including one that’s still in the College Football Playoff.
According to On3/Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett, Texas transfer running back Tre Wisner is set to visit Florida State and Ole Miss. He’s one of the top running backs in the transfer portal after the portal opened on Friday.
Wisner has been with Texas for three seasons and finished the 2025 season with 131 carries for 597 yards and three touchdowns. His best season came in 2024, finishing with 226 carries for 1,064 yards and five touchdowns. He has racked up 369 carries for 1,764 yards and nine touchdowns during his Texas tenure.
Ole Miss is still in the CFP and will play Miami for a spot in the National Championship Game on Thursday. Even though the program is preparing for that game, it still has to deal with the portal, which closes on Jan. 16. It’s the only portal window of the year since the spring window is now gone.
Florida State doesn’t have to worry about that after winning only five games in 2025. The school is bringing back head coach Mike Norvell for another season, and it might be a make-or-break year for him, as he has a 7-17 combined record over the last two seasons. He has a 38-34 overall record at FSU.
Wisner could also decide to visit other schools outside of FSU and Ole Miss before deciding for the 2026 season.
