No. 4 Texas Tech (12-1) and No. 5 Oregon (11-1) face off at the Orange Bowl in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals for a spot against the winner of No. 9 Alabama and top-ranked Indiana, participants of the CFP Rose Bowl quarterfinal game.
The Red Raiders dominated their way to a first-round bye in the CFP after finishing 12-1 in the regular season with their first-ever Big 12 Conference Championship win. They appear to be healthy with the few weeks off, as well, after demolishing BYU in a regular-season rematch.
Oregon, meanwhile, is coming off a commanding 51-34 win over No. 12 James Madison at home in the first round of the CFP, although it gave up 500 total yards of offense (most of which came in the second half with the game already out of reach).
The time off likely helped Texas Tech quarterback Behren Morton, who has been battling lower-body injuries for most of the season. Here's a look at the official availability report for Texas Tech vs. Oregon on Jan. 1.
