Deion Sanders is entering his fourth season as the Colorado Buffaloes head coach, and as a public figure with a variety of interests and the ability to do anything he pleases. The one question that always seems to come up: How long will Sanders remain at Colorado?

There have been no indications that his tenure will end anytime soon, but what about four years from now, in 2030?

The Athletic dove full-bore into that question, predicting every Power 4 head coach in 2030 (subscription required). The choice for Colorado is one many Buff fans likely have not heard of: Wisconsin quarterbacks coach Kenny Guiton.

Like many on this list, Guiton is an up-and-coming offensive coach who had an interim stint as Arkansas offensive coordinator in 2023. Guiton spent his collegiate playing career at Ohio State, backing up quarterback Braxton Miller.

Good luck forecasting when and how Sanders’ time in Boulder will end. Colorado has a new AD in Fernando Lovo, who has strong ties to Urban Meyer. Guiton, who played for Meyer at Ohio State, is a well-thought-of young coach. — Ralph D. Russo, The Athletic

New CU athletic director Fernando Lovo has a connection to Meyer, who was Guiton’s coach at Ohio State, dating back to when Lovo worked under Meyer in football operations at Florida and Ohio State, and experienced both programs’ championship runs.

Four years is an eternity in college football, especially when the average head coach tenure is just 4.75 seasons, according to The Athletic. What happens with Deion Sanders any of the next 3-4 offseasons is anyone’s guess, but he is under contract until 2029, and all signs point to him remaining in Boulder for at least that period.
