Cardinals History By The Numbers
While the January 1st, 1991 Fiesta Bowl victory over Alabama has been well documented, the Cards beatdown of the Tide (34-7) was a nationally recognized win for a program viewed to be on the rise. One of the reasons was due to the quarterback play of Browning Nagle, who threw for 451 yards and 3 touchdowns that night. But also on the roster was a backup QB named Jeff Brohm, a local kid who had a big arm and was looking to elevate the program even more. What Brohm did during his playing days, and what he’s done since as the head coach make it impossible to tell the story of Louisville football without him.
Side note: Jeff’s brother Greg Brohm (current Chief of Staff) was also on that 1990 roster and was wearing jersey…you guessed it…#91.
