Monday Night Therapy focuses on what Nebraska fans actually know about the 2026 offense rather than relying on offseason hype. Minnie Hunt and Jon Johnston examine the measurable progress made under offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen, noting improvements in scoring offense, total offense, rushing, yards per play, and third-down efficiency from 2024 to 2025. Holgorsen also says this year’s offense has been installed and understood unusually quickly, although that does not necessarily mean it is his best offense in years.

A major topic is quarterback Anthony Colandrea and whether he is a better fit for Holgorsen’s system than Dylan Raiola. Colandrea brings experience, mobility, quick processing, and the ability to extend plays, all of which fit Holgorsen’s flexible offense. His 2025 statistics—3,459 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, nine interceptions, and 649 rushing yards with 10 touchdowns—provide encouraging evidence, although Nebraska still has to see how he performs under pressure.

The biggest unanswered question is replacing Emmett Johnson, who accounted for 40.7 percent of Nebraska’s offensive yardage last season. Rather than relying on one replacement, Nebraska may distribute carries among several backs while also using Colandrea’s running ability.

Overall, the evidence is encouraging, but the first three games should reveal much about Nebraska’s offensive identity and potential.

Tune in next week as we dive deeper into the Husker offense.
