Georgia fans have been begging for a night game in Athens. Instead, the Bulldogs are getting one of the biggest night games imaginable — on the road at Alabama.

Georgia’s trip to Tuscaloosa on October 10 has officially landed in the primetime window, with the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.

That announcement probably won’t make UGA fans complaining about kickoff times feel any better.

So far, Georgia hasn’t received a single guaranteed night kickoff at Sanford Stadium. Vanderbilt is locked into the early window, Auburn is an afternoon game, while Missouri and Georgia Tech remain flex games that could potentially land at night. Georgia’s home schedule opened with Tennessee State at 3 p.m., Western Kentucky at 12:45 p.m., and Oklahoma at 3:30 p.m.

For a fanbase that constantly talks about how electric Sanford Stadium can be under the lights, that’s frustrating. Some of the best atmospheres in Athens come when fans have the entire day to tailgate before kickoff.

But apparently, Georgia can get a night game — as long as it benefits somebody else’s home atmosphere.

Instead of getting Sanford Stadium at its loudest, the Dawgs will walk into Bryant-Denny Stadium for a massive SEC showdown under the lights.

UGA fans wanted primetime.

They got it. Just in Tuscaloosa.
