Freshman linebacker Thomas Davis Jr. completed his regular-season debut donning the blue and gold in Sunday’s game against Wisconsin.

Davis Jr.’s father, former Georgia and NFL Pro Bowl linebacker Thomas Davis Sr., posted on social media that he had a “full circle moment” with his son. “My last college game was against Wisconsin and TJ’s first college game was against Wisconsin,” Davis Sr. said.

Both games were victories. The Irish defeated the Badgers, 41-13, on Sunday. In the 2004 college football season, Davis Sr. and the Bulldogs beat Wisconsin 24-21 in the Outback Bowl.

"Proud of you son," Davis Sr. added.

Davis Jr. was a 4-star recruit, a four-time MaxPreps All-American and one of the top overall linebackers in the country while at Weddington (N.C.). He recorded more than 180 tackles, over pass break ups and a few interceptions in his high school career with the Warriors.
