Harrisburg (Pa.) High blue-chip offensive lineman Kevin Brown decommitted from Penn State on Sunday, backing off his long-time pledge.
This “Tuesday or Wednesday” he’ll announce his next destination during the Pat McAfee show.
Brown tells Rivals the finalists are North Carolina, Ohio State and West Virginia.
“I’m undecided right now,” Brown said. “I’ve been praying about it, talking to my parents a lot. Trusting God’s calling and trusting the open doors he has for me.”
Brown took recent visits to see the Mountaineers and Buckeyes. He has not visited the Tar Heels yet.
Ranked by Rivals as the nation’s No. 3 offensive lineman and No. 57 prospect overall, the 6-foot-5, 280-pound Brown elaborated on each of his finalists.
Regarding North Carolina: “Bill Belichick, he brought down the strength coach from the New England Patriots. He’s a real good football coach. They’re bringing in a lot of talent as well.”
Regarding Ohio State: “What’s not to say about them. They’re the No. 1 team in the nation. If you go there you’re going to be certified winners.”
Regarding West Virginia: “They’re close to home. I know all the coaches there. Their facilites are top-notch. Their strength coach is one of the best in my opinion. The coaches are top-notch as well. With this recruiting class they’re going to be top contenders soon.”
My Rivals prediction is on West Virginia heading into the week. We’ll see if the Tar Heels or Buckeyes change the vibe ahead of the decision.
