Three Louisville players earn ACC honors

The University of Louisville football program had three student-athletes earn Atlantic Coast Conference weekly honors announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

Running back Keyjuan Brown, offensive lineman Eryx Daugherty and defensive back Kaleb Beasley were all recognized for their performances in Louisville’s 41-31 victory over No. 16 SMU on Saturday.

Brown had a career day in the win, rushing for 163 yards and two touchdowns on just 10 carries. The senior broke loose for a 58-yard touchdown on the second play after halftime to give the Cards the lead, and then later raced 53 yards for a touchdown to put the Cards back in front for good in the fourth quarter.

Daugherty was part of a Louisville offensive line that paved the way for the Cardinals rushing attack that amassed 265 yards, which were the most allowed by SMU since the 2022 season. Daugherty helped the Cards spring touchdown runs of 58, 53 and 27 yards.

Beasley led the Louisville defense on Saturday, recording a team-high 10 tackles and two interceptions. The junior recorded an interception in the second quarter and added another late in the fourth quarter to seal the game. The Louisville secondary limited SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings to 222 passing yards and one touchdown after he entered the weekend as the national leader in total offense.

Louisville returns to the field on Saturday against Wake Forest. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET at L&N Stadium.
