Three Boone County seniors will represent their schools at the 60th Annual Murat Shrine North-South All-Star Classic.
The game, which serves as the Indiana All-Star game for football, will be played July 10 at Decatur Central High School.
Lebanon’s Arsene Mpanda, along with Zionsville’s Brody Aeschliman and Lily Hough, will represent their schools and programs at the game.
All three will be part of the South roster.
Mpanda was a senior captain for the Tigers this fall, having 44 tackles (29 solo) and 6.0 tackles for a loss. He had two sacks in helping the Tigers win their first sectional title since 1997.
He finishes his career with five sacks and a fumble recovery, along with 78 total tackles.
The Tigers finished 10-3, matching the program record for most wins ever.
Mpanda is the second Tiger in as many years to earn All-Star honors, after wide receiver Kaden Lark earned the honor last year.
They are the only two Tigers to earn the recognition since 2018.
iAeschliman led the Eagles in tackles with 80, including three for a loss. He added two fumble recoveries and an interception.
He is signed to continue his academic and playing careers at Bowdoin College.
“All the success he’s had came from a lot of hard work, a lot of development, and he’s the the kind of guy that put everything he had into the program,” Zionsville head coach Scott Turnquist said. “It all came together this year. He had a great year as a leader, as a player on the field and being selected an all star is a testament of that.
Hough was named one of the All-Star managers.
She is the second manager from Zionsville to earn the honor, along with Chris Spillman in 2022.
“The managers mean so much to the program, and don’t get nearly enough recognition,” Turnquist said. “Lily’s been with us for four years, and has done absolutely everything for us. She keeps us coaches in line, keeps the players in line, and anything she’s asked to do, she does, and even things she isn’t asked to do. She’s the best.”
