Three players LSU football should target in trasnfer portal

LSU football's new coaching staff has done an excellent job during this year’s NCAA Transfer Portal window, as was expected. According to 247Sports’ rankings, they currently hold the top-ranked overall transfer class and the 11th-best average player rating. They’ve signed the top-ranked quarterback, the seventh-ranked edge rusher, two top-30 wide receivers, and the No. 2 safety in the class.

Despite all of the good that has gone on in Baton Rouge this offseason, there’s still a lot of work to be done before the portal closes Friday evening. The Tigers have only signed two offensive linemen to replace the seven they’ve lost so far, which is without question the team’s most significant need now that the quarterback position has been sorted out.

Here are three players Lane Kiffin and his staff need to target in order to round out the class:

Jordan Seaton – Offensive Tackle

Seaton would be a slam-dunk signing for Lane Kiffin and his offensive staff. The former five-star tackle earned second-team All-Big 12 honors in 2025, despite suffering an injury that forced him to miss the final three games of Colorado’s season. He’s the No. 4 overall player in 247Sports’ transfer rankings, and the clear-cut No. 1 offensive tackle.

According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Oregon and Texas are the top two schools to watch for the Florida native, but he also mentioned LSU could be a player in Seaton's recruitment.

Seaton finished the 2025 season with the 11th-best PFF pass-blocking grade among Power Four offensive tackles, allowing the sixth-fewest pressures and only two sacks.

Damon Wilson II – Edge Rusher

Missouri Tigers defensive end Damon Wilson II (8) celebrates after recovering a fumble during the second half against the Alabama Crimson Tide at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium.

Former Missouri edge rusher Damon Wilson II would be the cherry on top for LSU defensive coordinator Blake Baker and his staff’s strong run of defensive line recruiting. They’ve already signed two edge rushers from the portal — Tennessee’s Jordan Ross and South Carolina’s Jaylen Brown — but Wilson brings a level of play that could make the Tigers’ defense one of the top units in football next season.

Wilson earned second-team All-SEC honors in 2025 and recorded 55 pressures, eight sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss. He spent last weekend in Baton Rouge, but reportedly also plans to visit Miami before signing.

Devin Harper — Offensive Line

Harper, a former Lane Kiffin signee and LSU commit, was On3’s fourth-ranked interior offensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting class. He has a relationship with the Tigers’ new assistant offensive line coach, James Cregg, who held a similar role at Ole Miss last season.

Harper appeared in six contests for the Rebels this season, earning a 67.0 PFF run-blocking grade and an 82.3 pass-blocking grade in his limited snaps. The Shreveport native is On3’s fifth-ranked interior offensive lineman in the portal.
