Ohio State's spring practice season is coming to a close on Saturday when they take the field for the Spring Game. The four-week practice period is finally coming to a close, and it will culminate inside the Horseshoe in front of tens of thousands of Buckeyes fans.
This game for Ohio State fans is about seeing who is up next for the Buckeyes. This is the opportunity to see some of the young players take the field and get the opportunity to showcase their abilities and become a player that fans become excited to see.
Here are three players to keep a lookout for on Saturday inside the 'Show.
Quaterback Tavien St. Clair
St. Clair is one of the most hyped Buckeyes in a very long time. The five-star recruit who hails from the state of Ohio has the opportunity to become one of the next great Buckeyes when he gets his chance behind center.
He looks every bit the part of what a starting quarterback should be. He stands at 6'4" and weighs in at over 230 pounds. He has the athletic ability to make plays with his legs, and he has an arm that can reach every inch of the field.
Saturday will be his first real opportunity against live bullets to showcase his skillset and prove that when Julian Sayin leaves after this season, the Ohio State program is going to be in good hands for at least the next two seasons.
Wide Receiver Brock Boyd
There are a couple of wide receivers who are going to showcase their talents on Saturday, but the youngsters are going to get a lot of the action. One of those is wide receiver Brock Boyd, who has taken Spring Ball by storm.
As just a three-star wide receiver, he has exploded onto the map in Columbus and proved very quickly that he was both underrated coming out of high school and a very serious talent that may have the opportunity to play very early on in his career.
Cornerback Devin Sanchez
I really hope that we only see very limited reps from Devin Sanchez, but getting to see him run a couple of live reps against whoever on the other side of the football is going to answer a lot of questions about the next lockdown cornerback in Columbus.
Everyone talks about how good the Ohio State wide receiver position has been over the last 10 years, but the cornerback position hasn't been that far behind pace. Sanchez has the opportunity to become the next in line for Buckeyes defensive backs, and whether he gets reps against Jeremiah Smith or the 10th wide receiver on the roster on Saturday, it will be exciting to see what he brings to the table.
