After a somewhat slow start, USC’s 2027 recruiting class has quickly been growing. This past week, the Trojans added yet another member to the class when they landed three-star athlete Javon Vital.
Vital comes to USC from Lake Charles, Louisiana. 247Sports Composite ranks him as the No. 537 overall player and the No. 37 athlete in the class of 2027.
Vital chose the Trojans over LSU and Ole Miss. He is projected to play either receiver or running back in college.
“It’s great. Not too many colleges from big colleges like that check on kids and their families,” Vital said of the USC coaching staff in an interview with Sports Illustrated last month. “Not too many coaches take time out of their day [to] contact the kids and ask them about how they’re feeling so that’s a great thing.”
Clearly, the Trojans made a strong impression on Vital, as he decided to commit to the program. Vital was the fifth commitment that USC picked up in a span of nine days. The Trojans have been red hot on the recruiting trail of late, as the program looks to land together another top recruiting class in the 2027 cycle.
