Despite having already secured one quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class, the Washington Huskies are one of three programs among the finalists for coveted three-star Crean Lutheran passer Caden Jones.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound signal-caller from Southern California made official visits to Arizona, Baylor, and UW, with the Wildcats viewed as the heavy favorites, after receiving over 40 offers throughout the recruiting process.
Jones, who also holds a basketball scholarship offer from UW but whose older brother, Carter, is a redshirt freshman linebacker for the Wildcats, is the No. 36-ranked quarterback in the '27 class by 247Sports, and would be an intriguing depth addition if Jedd Fisch's coaching staff can come from behind and earn his pledge in the final hours before his announcement.

UW already has its headliner quarterback secured with Desert Edge (Goodyear, Arizona) four-star Blake Roskopf in the fold, though there is a belief that the program could add another quarterback before the start of next spring with a pair of redshirt freshmen, Treston McMillan and Dash Beierly, and true freshman Derek Zammit on the roster along with starter Demond Williams Jr. and backup Elijah Brown, a transfer from Stanford.
Jones made multiple unofficial visits to the school over the past few years, meeting with Fisch and former offensive coordinator Jimmie Dougherty, while several members of the coaching staff traveled to Southern California to visit the promising athlete. Jones also visited with men's basketball coach Danny Sprinkle, though there isn't a belief that the hardwood will wind up being his path over a potential college football career with his brother in Tucson.
As a junior at Crean Lutheran, the talented quarterback threw for 3,044 yards and completed 81.5 percent of his pass attempts, helping lead the California high school to a 10-1 overall record in 2025.
