Position coach Chad Scott added depth to his room with a late addition in the 2026 recruiting class, flipping Georgetown running back Jett Walker in November from the Minnesota Golden Gophers to the Texas Longhorns after a whirlwind recruitment.
It only took 10 days between Scott and the Longhorns extending an offer to the local product, landing an official visit for the win over the Razorbacks, and securing a commitment from the 6’2, 215-pounder.
Walker reported 20 offers, but seemingly focused his recruitment on West Virginia and Houston, visiting both during the summer visit window after making a spring commitment to the Mountaineers. Earlier in November, Walker visited with PJ Fleck and the Golden Gophers, committing shortly after his visit. However, the Longhorns entered the race just three weeks later and after a visit to the Forty Acres, he was ready to flip.
Highly productive during his two years with the Eagles, Walker rushed for 3,837 yards and 61 touchdowns over his junior and senior campaigns. Before moving to Georgetown, he played varsity as both a freshman and sophomore at Lampasas, rushing for more than 2,000 yards and 23 touchdowns.
Walker joins four-star back Derrek Cooper in Chad Scott’s group for the 2026 cycle, with both backs fitting the larger body type that Sarkisian and Scott have favored in recent years, with Walker looking like a downhill runner with good contact balance who could make a difference in short-yardage situations.
A consensus three-star prospect, Walker is the No. 739 player nationally and the No. 45 running back, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
