After signing the No. 1 recruiting class in the country for the 2026 cycle, USC has been off to a relatively slow start with the class of 2027. Prior to this week, the Trojans held just one commit in the class: four-star cornerback Aaryn Washington.
On Tuesday, however, that number of commits doubled, as USC landed three-star wide receiver Eli Woodard. Woodard picked the Trojans over Oregon, Michigan, and Missouri.
Woodard is a Southern California product, coming to USC from Temecula. 247Sports Composite ranks him as the No. 539 overall player and the No. 70 wide receiver in his class.
“It’s a great offense and a great system for wide receivers, and they really have made me feel like a major priority in the 2027 class even though it’s still early,” Woodard told 247Sports. “I believe in their vision for me in their offense and the coaches there have been making a strong push for a while to keep me closer to home.”
With the 2026 class, USC saw a big surge of commitments in February and March. It will be interesting to see if that is again the case with the 2027 cycle, or if the Trojans’ next class takes longer to come together.
