Three Wisconsin football stars named to preseason All-Conference teams

A trio of Wisconsin Badgers football players has been recognized in Athlon's preseason 2026 Big Ten All-Conference teams.

Senior editor Steven Lassan took a deep dive into who he believes will be standout players in the Big Ten this season.

He may not have named a single Badger player to the offensive or defensive first-team, but Wisconsin has a linebacker who's been gaining a ton of attention.

LB Mason Posa was named to Lassan's Second-Team Defense in what would be an incredible honor for the second-year player.

Going down to the Third-Team, safety Marvin Burks Jr. was another defensive selection. Burks Jr. is one of the team's highest-rated players in the upcoming EA Sports College Football 27 video game, and for good reason.

The Missouri transfer is joined by fellow defensive standout Cooper Catalano. Similar to Posa, Catalano is a second-year linebacker who is primed for a breakout year in 2026.
