Thursday Flakes: College Doldrums, Conference Media Days and More

Ok, I’ll be brave enough to say it…but how incredibly pointless, stupid, meaningless and laughable are conference media days? I don’t care, every coach thinks their conference is the best, or their team is going to have a great season. Grown men pick at each other like little kids while commissioners say stupid crap that are just empty words that no one will ever act upon.

I’m way past my playing days at Kearney Catholic. During those 4 years, I loved practice, summer scrimmages and camps. Hell, I still miss doing those things at times. It was fun then. But 20 years later, I don’t care what coaches and players expect of themselves and what they do behind the scenes. Just show me on the field. I’ll recognize what you have done. I’ve seen it enough to recognize progress.

Ok, rant over. I’ll officially go back to my rocking chair on my front porch and yell at the kids to get off my lawn. In the meantime…here are your flakes.
