The No. 3 Texas A&M Aggies experienced one of the most significant weekends in all of college football, which could have easily turned into the worst. However, their 31-30 historic comeback victory over South Carolina delivered endless rewards in front of 108,582 fans during the final regular-season SEC home game.
There were plenty of reasons to celebrate after Saturday’s contest. The Aggies secured a commitment from a key 2027 recruit and finalized coach Mike Elko’s contract extension, which also included bonuses that take effect immediately.
With the win, Texas A&M has essentially secured its place in the College Football Playoff, and a victory over Texas would send them to the SEC Championship for the first time in program history. While Coach Elko refuses to overlook Samford, these types of games present unique challenges that he will address during practice this week before a marquee nighttime showdown against Texas.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT / 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
