After facing criticism over her reunion red carpet look, the season 8 bombshell reminded fans that the cast is still learning how to navigate the spotlight.

Tierra “Titi” Davis is asking for something that can sometimes feel in short supply on the internet: grace.

The “Love Island USA” season 8 bombshell found herself facing criticism after attending the show’s reunion red carpet in a strapless red dress. Rather than fire back at her detractors, Davis took to her Instagram Stories to explain that she is still learning how to navigate her newfound visibility—and asked fans to extend that same grace to her fellow Islanders.

“I just want to say that I’m still figuring it all out,” Davis wrote. She explained that the reunion was her first-ever carpet event, and she is still figuring out her personal style, makeup and the hairstyles that make her feel most confident.

Davis acknowledged that the process is “all trial and error,” adding that she is comfortable with learning as she goes.

But her message wasn’t just about herself.

“I just wish there was a little more grace and kindness” for her and her fellow Islanders, she wrote. Davis pointed out that the cast had only recently left the villa and was now stepping into an entertainment industry that is new to many of them.

Her point: The Islanders are learning, growing and developing their individual styles in real time.

And while Davis said she understands that viewers “don’t have to love every look” and are entitled to their opinions, she also drew a clear distinction between criticism and cruelty. As she put it, “there’s a difference between having an opinion and being unkind.”

It’s a particularly timely reminder as the season 8 cast reunites for one more round of scrutiny. The reunion was filmed Aug. 10, following the cast’s red carpet appearance, and is scheduled to premiere Aug. 31 on Peacock at 9 p.m. ET.

For Titi, the red carpet wasn’t just about the dress. It was a first step into a very public new chapter—and she’s asking fans to let her, and the rest of the Islanders, figure it out along the way.
