Top 2027 WR Kesean Bowman Delays Commitment Announcement Indefinitely

Top college football wide receiver recruit Kesean Bowman was once locked in as a future Oregon Ducks player, but his recruitment went back to being wide open after he decommitted from head coach Dan Lanning’s program back in September.

A five-star wide receiver out of Brentwood Academy in Tennessee and the No. 32 player overall in the 2027 class, according to the 247Sports Composite ranks, Bowman had originally committed to Oregon in July, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

According to On3’s Chad Simmons, as soon as Bowman made his decision public, other programs began pushing harder, and after naming a new top-five for his preferred destinations — Miami Hurricanes, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oregon, Tennessee Volunteers and Vanderbilt Commodores — he set a new commitment date of Feb. 10, only to push it to Feb. 12.

This week, Bowman told Rivals he’s delaying the decision indefinitely.

“I am just not ready,” Bowman told Rivals. “I have had some big conversations with schools the last few weeks, and I am going to push my commitment date until further notice.”

Bowman is the No. 6 wide receiver in the 247Sports Composite ranks and the No. 2 player out of Tennessee, and he remains one of the most coveted pass-catchers in the 2027 cycle.

Although Bowman named his top five a few weeks ago, the Alabama Crimson Tide and USC Trojans are monitoring his recruitment closely, while the Nebraska Cornhuskers have surged into the race following recent meetings and a scheduled visit, per Simmons.

Bowman will visit Lincoln, Nebraska for the first time this weekend, where he’ll reunite with teammate and Huskers commit quarterback Trae Taylor, the No. 4 QB in the 2027 class, according to 247Sports Composite.

“For me, it’s really coming down to relationships,” Bowman said. “That means a lot to me. I want to go where I feel the best, where they can develop me, and where I can thrive in college and eventually thrive in the NFL.”

According to 247Sports scouting analyst Gabe Brooks, Bowman caught 56 passes for 1,023 yards and eight touchdowns as a sophomore, is considered a multi-sport athlete and has also taken reps on defense playing cornerback.
