The first ESPN College GameDay announcement was made on Tuesday. ESPN announced that its Saturday college football pregame show will be heading to Baton Rouge to take in the atmosphere when LSU hosts the Clemson Tigers, according to a report from Pete Nakos of On3.

The Week 1 matchup will be Lane Kiffin's first as head coach after leaving Ole Miss before the start of the College Football Playoff.

It's a battle between two teams nicknamed the Tigers, a pair of schools that claim "Death Valley," and a clash between two of the most outspoken coaches in college football.

The Oklahoma Sooners are among the top five programs in college football that have been featured on "GameDay," so you can imagine OU, its brand, and its following will be one of the characters on an episode of ESPN "College GameDay" again this year.

With a number of marquee matchups on the docket in 2026, here are the five games most likely to host ESPN "College GameDay."

1. Oklahoma at Georgia

The Sooners first SEC matchup in 2026 will also mark the first time the Sooners have been to Athens to play the Bulldogs. OU and UGA haven't played since the 2017 Rose Bowl. Take away that both teams could be undefeated coming into the matchup and this game is rought with storylines.

Can they get Baker Mayfield to drive up from Tampa Bay for the game?

Other notable options include Texas A&M at LSU and Texas at Tennessee. A sneaky good matchup could be Virginia Tech at Boston College in ACC play.

2. Oklahoma vs. Texas in Red River Showdown

The greatest rivalry in sports in the best environment in college football is always a great opportunity for ESPN "College GameDay" to show up.

3. Oklahoma at Florida

Oklahoma and Florida have never played in the regular season. This will be the Sooners first trip to Gainesville, creating another opportunity to be featured on GameDay. Other contenders would be Alabama's trip to Baton Rouge to take on LSU, Georgia at Ole Miss, or even the Holy War between BYU and Utah.

4. Texas A&M at Oklahoma

This will be the Aggies' first time at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in 15 years. The last time Texas A&M played on Owen Field, the Oklahoma Sooners won 45-21. On that day, Landry Jones threw for 255 yards and two touchdowns, Roy Finch ran for 99 yards and a score, Blake Bell dozed his way into the end zone for two touchdowns, and the Sooners' defense picked off Aggies quarterback Ryan Tannehill three times.

The only other big-time SEC matchup that week is LSU trip to Knoxville to take on Tennessee.

5. Ole Miss at Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Sooners haven't beaten Ole Miss since joining the SEC. Could the third time be the charm? This game could have playoff implications, but there may be bigger games for ESPN to sink its teeth into like Tennessee at Texas A&M or Texas at LSU.
