One of the biggest names in Alabama football's 2027 recruiting class, the senior season for long-time Crimson Tide quarterback commit Trent Seaborn officially began this past Thursday night.

Seaborn, who plays for Thompson High School in Alabama, led the two-time defending AHSAA 7A state champions to a 41-14 road win at Central-Phenix City. The matchup featured arguably the top two preseason teams in the state of Alabama, and was among the most anticipated nationally of this week's high school slate.

In all, Seaborn began the season with an impressive showing by throwing for 300+ yards and four touchdowns.

Of Seaborn's four total touchdown passes, three came in the first half, with his longest of 39 yards coming late in the third quarter.

The Alabama commit is coming off a stellar junior season at Thompson that saw Seaborn complete 71.5% of passes for 3,692 yards and a 35:7 TD:INT ratio across 14 games. Seaborn also rushed for five more scores, and across his high school career overall, has thrown for over 10,000+ yards and 103 touchdowns since 2022 as an eighth grader.

Rated as a four-star prospect, per the 247Sports composite rankings, Seaborn has been committed to the Crimson Tide since October 2025. Seaborn is currently ranked as the nation's No. 295 overall player, the No. 23 quarterback, and the No. 15 prospect in the state of Alabama.

The senior is one of Alabama's two quarterbacks committed in the 2027 cycle, joined by Elijah Haven. Haven is a five-star prospect out of Dunham School in Louisiana.
