Top available transfer quarterback commits to Georgia football

The Georgia Bulldogs have added Oregon Ducks quarterback signee Bryson Beaver via the transfer portal. Beaver was a four-star recruit in the class of 2026 and signed with Oregon during the early signing period.
The Ducks lost offensive coordinator Will Stein, who became the head coach at Kentucky, and adding Nebraska transfer Dylan Raiola, a former Georgia commitment, over the past couple of months. Those two things combined with Dante Moore returning for another season instead of declaring for the 2026 NFL draft proved to be enough to make Beaver rethink his decision.
Beaver was the top available quarterback in the transfer portal before Duke quarterback Darian Mensah’s decision to enter the portal at the last minute. Beaver is the No. 28 transfer quarterback in the country and the No. 448 player overall.
Georgia and coach Kirby Smart lost a commitment from five-star quarterback recruit Jared Curtis right before the early signing period in December. UGA was unable to find a suitable replacement until now.
Beaver was a four-star quarterback recruit in the 2026 recruiting cycle. He played high school football for Vista Murrieta in Murrieta, California. As a recruit, Beaver was ranked as the No. 12 quarterback in the country and the No. 174 prospect. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound signal caller was the No. 19 player in California.
