Top QB Recruit Hints Of A Possible Return Trip To Kansas State

Kansas State Wildcats coach Collin Klein is already making strong recruiting inroads in his first season. 

He has spent lots of hours on the recruiting trail, searching for tomorrow's stars in Manhattan. With a solid 2007 class in the works, it's never too early to start on the following season. 

For last Saturday's victory against the Washington State Cougars, the Wildcats hosted several top players from across the country. The prize was quarterback Titus Huard, who is a four-star recruit. Huard is also the son of former NFL player Brock Huard. 

Huard, who plays at Valor Christian in Littleton, Colo., was in attendance to watch the Wildcats dominate the Cougars 34-7. The defense did not allow a touchdown, with the only score being an interception returned for a score. 

It seems like Huard enjoyed his time in the Little Apple. 

Here's what he posted on social media after the visit: "Had a great time at Kansas State over the weekend, thankful for the whole experience. Will be back soon!!"

The Wildcats could be in the market for a new quarterback after this season. Senior Avery Johnson is in the middle of third season as the full-time starter. He has the opportunity to petition for a fifth year under new NCAA rules but could test the NFL waters if he continues to have a strong season. 

Even if Johnson returns, that would still put Huard in a similar position. Johnson sat most of his freshman season behind starter Will Howard. After Howard decided to transfer to play for the Ohio State Buckeyes, Johnson became the late-season starter and played in the bowl game. 

Huard already has offers from the Arkansas Razorbacks, Arizona State Wildcats, Kansas Jayhawks and Colorado Buffaloes. 

Huard has thrown for 784 yards and seven touchdowns this season. Last year he threw for 1,946 yards and 16 touchdowns. Aside from his lineage, scouts love his size. He is 6-foot-5 and 206 pounds. 

We'll keep an eye on his production this season and his interest in K-State.
