Washington's top remaining target in the 2027 class came off the board on Saturday.
But four-star wide receiver Osani Gayles of IMG Academy will not be heading to Montlake. Gayles committed to Alabama on Saturday in a ceremony livestreamed by CBS Sports.

Gayles, ranked the No. 35 overall player and No. 7 wide receiver in the 2027 class by 247Sports, chose Alabama over the Huskies and other finalist, Stanford.
Washington had him on campus for a visit the weekend of June 5, the final visit he took after seeing Alabama the weekend prior. But earning that final visit did not prove to be enough in securing his commitment to add to a Huskies class that is already full of blue-chip talent at receiver. The Huskies will find consolation in that class, which includes four-stars Tre Moore, Braylon Pope, and Dontay Tyson, and three-star Zerek Sidney, but a player like Gayles would have been the crown jewel of the class.
Moore is the team's top-rated recruit by the 247Sports composite ratings at No. 160 overall. That would rank seventh in the Huskies' historic 2026 class, behind offensive tackle Kodi Greene, running back Brian Bonner Jr., cornerback Rahsjon Duncan, safety Gavin Day, and defensive linemen Derek Colman-Brusa and JD Hill.
Of course, Washington's current commitments have an entire senior season to move up the rankings and change that. One player who will not have that opportunity is Pope, who will miss his senior year of high school with a shoulder injury. The Huskies will also spend resources to try to flip a player or two, as they did with 2026 receivers Jordan Clay and Trez Davis.
Washington still has 21 commitments in the 2027 class, with No. 3 long snapper Braylon Logan and No. 1 punter Nolan Balke the latest to join the Huskies' class.
