Former Tulane EDGE Jordan Norman has committed to Tennessee out of the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. Norman was also recruited by South Carolina and Florida during his time in the portal.
Norman was a redshirt sophomore for Jon Sumrall’s Tulane Green Wave in 2025. He finished the season with a career-best 28 tackles and six sacks during the season.
He began his career at South Alabama, where Norman spent the first two seasons of his college career. Norman redshirted as a true freshman while posting four tackles and 1.5 sacks. He following that up with a productive redshirt freshman year in 2024, logging 25 tackles and 2.5 sacks during his final season at USA.
Before college, Norman was a three-star recruit according to the Rivals Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 1,817 overall player in the 2023 class, including the 140th-ranked pass rusher.
Tennessee finished with an 8-5 record in 2025, but are looking to get back to the College Football Playoff in 2026. During the 2024 season, the Vols finished the year 10-3 overall before losing in the first round of the CFP tothe eventual national champions, Ohio State.
That season, the 2024 Tennessee defense ranked second in the SEC in total defense, allowing 293.2 yards on average. They also held opponents to 16.1 points per game – a mark which sat third among SEC teams. Norman will hope to occupy the edge of a group looking for similar success in 2026.
Norman is the 11th player to commit to head coach Josh Heupel and the Tennessee Volunteers since the NCAA transfer portal opened on Jan. 2. It will be open until Jan. 16, but as of this report Tennessee has the No. 26-ranked class according to the 2026 On3 Transfer Portal Team Rankings. In addition, they’ve also lost 21 players to the portal.
