The Georgia Bulldogs host the Texas Longhorns in a critical SEC game on Saturday, Nov. 15. Georgia (7-1, 5-1 SEC) plays Texas (7-2, 4-1) in Athens in a rematch of the 2024 SEC championship game.
Georgia met Texas twice in 2024 with the Bulldogs winning both times. Georgia’s defense bullied Texas en route to 30-15 win in Austin last October. The Bulldogs won the 2024 SEC championship 22-19 on an overtime rushing touchdown from running back Trevor Etienne.
Texas and coach Steve Sarkisian have been thinking about their two losses to Georgia for a long time. The Longhorns have a bye week to prepare for Georgia and will be desperate to win to keep their SEC championship hopes alive. If Texas losses, then the Longhorns would have to beat Texas A&M to have a chance to make the College Football Playoff.
Georgia plays Mississippi State ahead of the Texas game. The Dawgs will play Texas in their final SEC game of the season. Georgia is ranked No. 5 and Texas is ranked No. 13 in the latest edition of the US LBM Coaches Poll.
